Since I started my blog a couple years ago I’ve received tons of comments and emails from girls asking for hair and makeup posts and tutorials. I love trying out new makeup and I’m excited to bring you all more beauty content – starting today! I’m beginning with my absolute favorite makeup essentials. These are the staple products I use everyday and can’t live without – and I’m usually wearing most of them in every blog post and Instagram photos.

FACE: I start with a tiny drop of oil-free Smashbox primer, only on the center of my forehead and a touch on my nose and either cheek. I haven’t found better brushes than Bobbi Brown’s line. If you’re new to it, I highly recommend their “Basic Brush Set” to try it out! I’ve never loved using a flat foundation brush so I use a round kabuki-style brush to buff on my foundation in little circles around my face. I love the airbrushed effect it produces. Armani Luminous Silk foundation is my go-to. It’s lightweight, lasts all day, and worth every penny. I mix it with a drop of NARS Illuminator in “Copacabana” for some extra glow.

I use Bobbi Brown bronzer in “Bali Brown” under my cheekbones with this brush and on my temples and Smashbox blush on the apples of my cheeks – it’s the perfect coral. I love the dewy look and can’t stand a too-matte, powdered face, so unless I’m going to be photographed at an event, I skip finishing powder and carry these blotting papers in my purse instead.

EYES: Laura Mercier’s Eye Basics primer in “Flax” makes my eye makeup last all day. Bobbi Brown’s Corrector hides dark undereye circles – I put it on with my Bobbi Brown Concealer Brush. For extra tired eyes, sometimes I swipe a dash of Giorgio Armani Retouch over it (my secret!).  I have almond-shaped eyes so I accentuate my shape with cat-eye liner. I use a pencil first and then extend the line upwards with Armani Liquid Liner – it’s magic. My favorite eye shadow shades are Dior Fusion in “Meteore,” a shimmery gold, and NARS bronze shades: “Galapagos,” “Mekong,” and the tiniest dash of “Night Clubbing” in the crease. I use Bobbi Brown’s Eyeshadow Brush for shadow. I finish with Anastasia’s brow pencil (if you’re ever in LA, it’s worth it to book an appointment at her salon!) and a good dose of mascara.

LIPS: A soft pink-nude is my staple lip color. I just tried the new Lancome Gloss in Love  and the sheer colors are perfect for summer.

BODY: I’m alternating fragrances right now between Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb, Prada Candy and Carven le Parfum. I love a natural tan and I usually visit Chocolate Sun in Los Angeles a few times a month for an organic spray tan, and I can’t wait to try James Read’s tanning products – I was recently introduced to his line at a Net-a-Porter event.

I would love to know what you think and what you’d like to see in the future – hair, skincare, makeup ideas? Let me know! Happy Monday!
