When I walked into the Alice & Olivia showroom to choose an outfit for their presentation, I had one thing in mind: girly, floral-y, dramatic.
Everything I have from A&O is feminine: full skirts, dark florals, tailored collars. However, as I sorted through the hangers of options I spotted this striped tailored blazer and pant combo at the back and paused. The metallic stripes down the sleeves were CHIC. I tried it on and it was the winner, just needed a bralette underneath (unless you’re going for a red carpet situation). The fitted silhouette on this suit makes it work without drowning you in stripes, and the whole thing felt a little more subtle than I expected. It’s a good choice for a blonde since the gold stripes play off your hair color a bit.
I paired it with a black strappy heel and my mirrored sunglasses. The Alice & Olivia presentation itself was gorgeous – if you follow me on IG you probably saw some photos and videos of the dark fairytale/garden/tea party vibe. Models stood in gold bird cages and sat in gardens of flowers – they must have used hundreds of rose petals.
This suit had me thinking that I could use some more fitted jackets in my life. A blazer transforms jeans and a tee so easily and is a great autumn and winter staple piece. After poking around online I realized that ASOS is the jackpot for tailored blazers – you have to go look at their selection, so many colors and fabrics! I ordered this navy pajama kimono jacket and also love this tailored blazer.
