5 Bombers You Need Now

Zara jacket, David Lerner tee, L'Agence jeans, Sole Society booties, Givenchy bag

A lightweight bomber jacket is my answer to this awkward in-between-seasons period where you want to dress for autumn but it’s still 80 degrees outside.

Some of the warmest days of the year in LA are in October and November, ironically. I always look forward to the elongated summer before the holidays but it definitely makes dressing for the occasion difficult. I found a classic bomber jacket at Zara for $30 a couple months ago and have worn it non-stop since, so I decided it was time to expand my collection to some of these favorites below.

A classic bomber goes with basically anything already in your closet: jeans and a tee or over a floral dress to get some last life out of summer pieces. Khaki is flattering on everyone and it’s an easy way to incorporate a menswear vibe without going overboard. I also love colored bombers: this red satin bomber pairs with dark denim so well and is a great going-out jacket for nighttime, as well as this aubergine bomber. Swap your leather jacket in for either of those and wear with heels!

I usually stray from any clothes with writing/phrases on them as I tend to find it tacky. However, I love a bomber with one word on the back like this “society” bomber from Amuse; it’s less in-your-face and a fun way to spice up a normal piece. Floral embroidery is popping up all over too which is a feminine way to wear them – I like the subtle print on this blue satin bomber. If you lean towards very feminine, this rose-pink bomber jacket is a dream with a pretty quilted pattern and light brown sleeves. Love.

I’ve had these black rubber-bottom booties for a couple years now and was happy to see them restocked again this season from Sole Society – they’re super comfortable and seem to be pretty water-resistant as I’ve packed them for many trips and walked through the rain in them with no sign of wear. A soft white tee is my go-to under a bomber, tucked into high-waisted jeans. I’ve worn this pair countless times on the blog and no matter how many wash cycles they go through the stretch stays intact.
