Earlier this weekend, Annie hosted a group of us at Rancho Valencia for a much needed girls night.

If you haven’t heard of Rancho Valencia, add it to your list of hotels to visit in California. The gorgeous spanish-style property is a magical place for a lazy long weekend at the pool or spa. It’s romantic, secluded and peaceful.  I love the decor and sunny vibe there and each time I leave feeling relaxed.

After welcoming everyone in the resort’s Hacienda guest house, Annie had apps and drinks waiting and we cozied up to the fire and hid from the rain. Dinner was in the “wine cave,” and photos below barely do it justice. The table was flooded with candles, little votives, roses and the napkins were tied with pink ribbons. (Naturally we all freaked out and spent the first ten minutes documenting before putting phones away).

While Annie totally killed the game in the hostess department, the get together reminded me of how important it is to make time for girlfriends even just casually at home (which is the norm). Fostering and maintaining strong relationships with the women in my life is a big priority and I take it seriously because I know my genuine girlfriends will be there for me through thick and thin for years, as I will do for them. It’s comforting to know that no matter what else changes in life or comes and goes, real friends are forever.

I’ll be heading to Cabo tomorrow with Sivan for a short but sweet trip, so follow along on IG!
