Who is heading to Coachella this year?
Festival season has snuck up on me this year and I’m thinking of what to wear: it has to be comfortable, easy to move and dance around in, fun with a bohemian vibe (but not over the top). Each year Coachella seems to grow bigger and more commercial, and each year “Coachella style” becomes more and more a prominent part of the fashion world. If you’ve been, you’ve probably seen it all there – from fringe and leather to tie dye and crochet. I teamed up with Boohoo to share some favorite Coachella-inspired picks!
I look for boho-inspired prints and colors like this printed blouse since it’s easy to tuck into a pair of denim shorts. This “suedette” jacket is very light, soft and thin – really less a jacket and more a sleeved layer to throw on at sunset over a cropped top or blouse. I love that it’s light and small enough to roll up and throw in my bag or tie around my waist since it’s so hot during the day. Closed-toe booties are a must if I’m going anywhere near the stages or into crowds – I hate getting stepped on by other concert-goers (anyone feel me?)
The best part of finding a festival look you love is wearing it year round after. I think it’s best not to follow trends too far, especially as festival wear becomes so obvious (layered fringe, huge chain necklaces, those temporary body tattoos…the list goes on!) This blush hued maxi dress with lace detail is something I’d wear on a normal weekend to brunch with friends, and this denim ruffle off the shoulder top is perfect for white jeans and wedges. I’d recommend staying true to your real style while incorporating some fun festival elements.
