It’s around this time of year that I start looking for a versatile holiday dress: something glamorous but understated that works for everything from family dinners to a night out. I think I’ve found it in this French Connection dress – it shows just enough skin at the neckline and the back, but is still elegant and appropriate for any event. It hits a bit below the knee and I usually gravitate towards either short (well above the knee) or maxi, but I think with an elongating nude heel this tea-length works well.
I threw a black leather jacket over it and added some sparkly jewels. How amazing are these Tacori diamond earrings? I borrowed them for a Tacori event a couple weeks ago but had to sneak them into some outfit photos. I have to let you in on a (not so) secret – the jewelry brand Nadri makes the prettiest, more affordable “diamond” earrings. I first spotted them at Nordstrom a couple years back and bought a pair of studs, thinking I would get a few good uses out of them with holiday dresses before their shine faded. I was wrong! As long as you keep them out of the shower, they last – and go from about $40- $100. See below for some of my favorite picks (I especially those this drop pair).
