Happy beginning of December! This time of year always creeps up and is full of holiday events, parties and family time. I like to have a few go-to outfits and hairstyles ready to put on repeat so I’m not rushing day of to put a look together.

I wanted to share a video I shot with Joico that focuses on holiday hair and a corresponding outfit for the holidays. I usually wear my hair down with waves, so it was fun to learn how to create a polished updo from Joico’s celebrity artist Eric Mayes. The result was a twisted low bun, and it’s way easier than you’d think! Click play to see the step-by-step.

Have you ever noticed how second or third-day hair holds a bun or braid better than freshly washed hair? Eric used Heat Set Perfecting Creme before blowdrying my hair, which kept it looking clean for a couple days. It also repels humidity! He also used Power Spray Fast-Dry Finishing Spray, which will seriously hold any hairstyle (we filmed 3 hair looks in one day, and this mega-spray held it all together).
