I know most of the country is knee deep in winter right now, but LA’s version of January is already sort of in-between winter and spring. Stores are starting to put up their spring clothing displays and most days it’s hot in the afternoon and chilly at night. It’s about this time of year that I rely on a few staple layering pieces that work between seasons and never go out of style. Thought I would share my favorites:

I must have 30 pairs of jeans in my closet but really only wear 5 of them on a daily basis (anyone feel me?) My latest pair on rotation is this stretchy, super comfortable and flattering Paige ankle skinny jean. I’m a new convert to Paige and am already eyeing her bell-bottoms and zippered jeans.  I just bought these Dolce Vita sandals and am wearing them nonstop. I love a sandal with a chunky heel comfortable enough to walk all day in that still gives me a good height boost. They’re year-round appropriate for Los Angeles in black, but now I want the camel color for a vacation. This blue leather jacket is a wish list piece – I keep seeing it in stores and you can never have too many leather jackets, right? It’s buttery soft and would be perfect with light-wash jeans and boots.

My obsession with Diptyque candles runs deep. They make the perfect housewarming gift (I buy a couple at a time and save them) but I also love them for myself and use the glass jars as makeup brush holders when the candle is used up. As I write this post, this limited edition candle is burning in my bedroom and making the room smell like a rose garden. Beyond the scents, the packaging is gorgeous and Parisian. I currently have a love/hate relationship with candles since my hair caught on fire on New Year’s Eve from a bar top candle (wish I were kidding; more on that later). BUT, they’re still a home decor necessity, just proceed with caution!

I’m re-organizing and writing down my goals for 2015 in this beautiful planner that my friend Kat designed and gave me from her collection with Gigi NYC. My monogrammed luggage tag is already on my suitcase, ready for my next trip! Speaking of it, I’m excited to be heading to Park City tomorrow for the Sundance Film Festival – has anyone been? You can my adventures on Instagram – hope your week is off to a great start!
