During last September’s New York Fashion Week, one trend I saw on the runways that excited me was leather worked into otherwise spring-ready and colorful looks. Leather has become a favorite fabric of mine recently, because it looks and feels so luxurious (even the faux options!) and I’m not quite ready to let it go once winter ends.
Springtime leather is popping up in bright colors this season – I have my eye on this colorful jacket and this top- but I also like leather in basic colors, like the perfect black shell top that I wore out in Santa Monica. All you need to transition from winter to spring is a little leather top! I paired it here with both a colorblock pencil skirt (it’s reversible!) and my favorite new pair of pants that have a little unexpected detail of black leather on the sides. I love color, but sometimes a simple black and white outfit can leave just as strong a statement. What do you think?
