Summer Sneakers

With a week left to pack before my next trip, I’ve been on the hunt for a pair of summer sneakers.

I usually wear flats or sandals in LA, but a white sneaker is perfect for breezy minidresses or jeans and a tee while traveling. My pet peeve is cold feet on airplanes, so sandals are out (I also hate thinking about germs on planes). Since packing space is tight and it’ll be hot in Europe, wearing booties just for the plane is out too – so a summer sneaker it is!

I like the idea of a white sneaker to offset some of the casual factor; it feels clean and simple.

I stopped by Rag & Bone on Melrose yesterday to check out some options and window shop the summer collection. I was initially torn between these white net sneakers and these blush-toned sneakers. White is fresh for summer but the blush are so pretty too, especially paired with the distressed Frame skinny jeans and striped tee I wore that day. I decided on a pair of simple canvas sneakers and loved them paired with what I was wearing that day, so I wore them out of the store for the rest of the afternoon. I usually wear sneakers with an invisible ankle sock (especially for long hours traveling and going through security), but these have a soft cotton lining meant to be worn sockless if you prefer. I now slip them on to grab a morning coffee without thinking about it.

I was also into the leather sneakers idea as a more elevated look – I can see myself rocking those with a suede jacket come autumn. I’ve had my eye on these Lanvin sneakers that I just noticed are on sale (eek). So feminine and pretty for a casual shoe. Which are your favorite? Below are some more options, and if you have any favorite tips for dressing while traveling, share them below!
