Runway photography: Ken Pao

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen a couple sneak peek photos from the Target runway show during NYFW. I flew into NYC a couple days before fashion week started to see the show (filmed for a new Target commercial). It was so fun, colorful and lighthearted and the best way to kick off fashion week. I’m excited to share that I’ll be working on a style campaign with Target over the next couple months and bringing you the latest fashion and beauty trends from the runway.

First up: bold lips. I must admit that before this year, I could probably count the number of times I’ve worn a true red lip on one hand. Living in Los Angeles, you’re more likely to see beachy waves and a natural lip, and I was never quite sure which shade of red (blue-based? orange?) was most flattering on blonde hair and fair skin. After wearing a red lip several times during NYFW I’ll definitely be pulling it in the future – it’s much easier than I thought. Plus, you don’t need much other makeup, which is a great when you’re running late. During the Target runway show, many models rocked bright fuchsia and crimson lipstick and it complimented the fall tones perfectly. Makeup artists used product lines including Pixi and Sonia Kashuk to create these looks – all available from Target Beauty. My lipstick above is by Maybelline.
